All is set for this year’s Carnival Calabar & Festival with the theme ‘AFRICANISM’
Speaking at the first festival and carnival committee meeting yesterday, the festival committee chairman Mr Kenn Akla assured tourist of the best festival experience ever witness in the history of the state’s annual festival.
Also speaking Mr Gabe Onah, the chairman of the state Carnival commission, promised for a better Carnival package this year, as the Carnival bands are working very hard to interpret this year’s theme Africanism saying that the streets of Calabar will be most colourful this year.
The senior special assistant Event Management, Mr Thomas Ikpeme outlined event on the calendar for this year’s festival, stating that the festival will begin with City Walk on the 1st of December, he also highlighted events for this year’s miss Africa Calabar grand finale. With a showcase of thirty beautiful African girls from thirty Africa countries. Promising that the 27th of December the date for the pageant’s grand finale will go down In the history the state, as the best event night in the whole of Africa. The honorable commissioner for culture and tourism Mr Eric Iso Anderson assured everyone that this year being electioneering campaign year, that the Governor is not distracted by the campaigns, but that he is fully committed to the successful hosting of this year’s festival and carnival.
The honorable commissioner for finance Mr Asuquo Ekpenyong, pledged to ensure that all budgetary provisions are meet.
