BREAKDOWN OF ELECTRICITY SUBSIDY FOR SEPTEMBER
In line with the NERC report, the federal authorities pays N19.92 billion to Eko Distribution Firm (EKEDC); N14.87 billion to Benin Distribution Firm (BEDC); N14.61 billion) to Enugu Distribution Firm (EEDC); and N22.21 billion to Ibadan Distribution Firm (IBEDC).
In line with the order, Ikeja Distribution Firm (IKEDC) will obtain N23.76 billion, Jos Distribution Firm (JEDC) N11.68 billion, and Kaduna Distribution Firm (KAEDCO) N13.14 billion.
Additionally, Kano Distribution Firm (KEDCO) will obtain N12.96 billion, Port Harcourt Electrical energy Distribution (PHED) N13.45 billion, Yola Distribution Firm (YEDC) N8.06 billion, and Abuja Electrical energy Distribution Firm N26.14 billion.
Previous to the rise in Band A tariff, Adebayo Adelabu, minister of energy, mentioned it was troublesome for the federal authorities to proceed to subsidise electrical energy, saying Nigeria’s debt to technology and gasoline corporations was N3 trillion.
