The Lagos police command says it has launched an investigation right into a viral video of an officer concerned in an altercation with an aged girl.
POLICE COMMENCE INVESTIGATION INTO VIDEO OF POLICE OFFICER IN ALTERCATION WITH ELDERLY WOMAN
On Sunday, a video exhibiting a police officer manhandling an aged girl in her automobile started circulating on social media.
The officer was stated to have demanded N250,000 from the lady which she refused to pay, earlier than the altercation started.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the police spokesperson in Lagos, in a press release on Wednesday, condemned the motion of the officer, noting that the inspector and his supervising deputy superintendent have been introduced in for questioning.
Hundeyin stated the incident befell within the Alagbado space of Lagos within the first week of September.
He assured the general public that the investigation could be “swift, thorough and conclusive”.
“The command condemns the unprofessional conduct of the Inspector because it doesn’t characterize the ethics and operational requirements of the Nigeria Police Pressure,” the assertion reads.
“The command equally assures Lagosians that the investigation will likely be swift, thorough and conclusive.
“We are going to be certain that the officers are disciplined as applicable, and members of the general public are up to date accordingly.”
