The Imo police command says its operatives have killed three gunmen and foiled an assault on Njaba LGA divisional headquarters in Umuakah space of the state.
In an announcement on Sunday, Henry Okoye, the police spokesperson within the state, mentioned the hoodlums launched a “violent assault” on the headquarter with “sporadic gunfire”.
Okoye famous that the operatives recovered one basic goal machine gun, one AK-47 rifle, and three automobiles —a Toyota Lexus 470, Mercedes GLK, and Toyota Venza.
He quoted Aboki Danjuma, the commissioner of police within the state as commending the operatives for his or her bravery, including that the fleeing suspects will likely be apprehended within the coming days.
“In response, the ever gallant operatives swiftly took up defensive positions and engaged the assailants, ensuing within the neutralisation of three attackers,” Okoye mentioned.
“The remaining assailants, who sustained numerous gunshot accidents, fled into close by bushes.
“Through the operation, our forces recovered one Basic Goal Machine Gun, one AK-47 rifle, and three automobiles: a Toyota Lexus 470, a Mercedes GLK, and a Toyota Venza,” the spokesman disclosed.
“The command will proceed to take decisive actions towards any threats to public peace.”
