Dikko Radda, governor of Katsina, says the state safety watch corps has been instrumental within the arrest of over 1,000 informants working with bandits.
Radda spoke in Katsina on Monday throughout a courtesy go to by Hassan Abubakar, chief of air employees (CAS).
The governor stated his administration is dedicated to enhancing the safety of lives and properties to fast-track sustainable agricultural transformation within the state.
Radda stated the continued collaboration between the state authorities and the Nigeria Air Drive (NAF) would checkmate banditry within the state.
“We assured the armed forces of our readiness to help their efforts in any manner we may. The state has made important progress in figuring out and apprehending informants collaborating with bandits,” he stated.
“The Katsina state safety watch corps has been instrumental on this effort, resulting in the arrest of over 1,000 informants.”
The governor stated the federal government has engaged related stakeholders within the LGAs of the state to establish and get rid of bandits.
Radda stated the state has doubled its efforts in the direction of addressing the foundation causes of banditry in Katsina and its neighbours within the north-west.
“We’re actively partaking conventional rulers, non secular leaders, and neighborhood heads to establish and get rid of suspicious components inside our communities,” he stated.
“I recognised that unemployment, illiteracy, and lack of livelihood alternatives are main contributors to the safety challenges we face.”
