Senator Otu essay competition records huge success in Southern Senatorial District

The Senator Bassey Otu Essay Competition has recorded huge success in its first phase in Calabar.

The Essay Competition took place in the prestigious Hope Waddel Training Institution in Calabar on the 29th of June, 2024. The intellectual exercise commenced in the morning hours of Saturday, 29th June, 2024 into the evening with participants drawn from 96 Secondary Schools across the Seven Local Government Areas in Cross River South.

The Essay Competition is organized by the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Local Content with the topic: “Using relevant examples, critically identify areas to accelerate development and drive growth in a people’s first content agenda”.

According to the Special Adviser, Local Content Amb. Awatt Caleb, the Essay is a collaborative initiative from the State Government to foster academic excellence among Cross Riverians in Secondary Schools.

“It is an offshoot of the people’s first agenda of His Excellency, Sen. Bassey Otu in strengthening the local content advocacy and encouraging locals to engage in intellectual exercise for future development of human capacity”, Amb. Awatt mentioned.

The Essay is designed in phases as Southern Senatorial District wrapped up their phase, the Central and Northern Senatorial Districts are commencing theirs in soonest.

After an impartial assessment of all the participants, winners shall be invited to the grand finale where scholarships and lots of prizes shall be given accordingly.

With this, His Excellency, Sen Bassey Otu has scored another point, adding to other numerous ones he has to his credit courtesy of his people’s first leadership style and governance.
