The Kaduna State Authorities has inaugurated a 10-member committee for the resettlement of individuals displaced by bandits in some elements of Southern Kaduna.
Talking yesterday on the inauguration in Kaduna, the state governor, Senator Uba Sani, famous that “the southern a part of Kaduna State has confronted its share of displacement of people and households as a result of incidents of violence at the moment debilitating many elements of Kaduna State.”
Sani, who was represented by his deputy and chairperson of the committee, Dr. Hadiza, stated that “the plight of the displaced individuals weighs closely on our collective conscience.”
He pressured that it’s crucial to take decisive motion to handle their wants and facilitate their resettlement.
He charged the committee to plan complete methods for the efficient resettlement of displaced individuals within the southern a part of Kaduna State.
“This entails facilitating entry to fundamental facilities, healthcare, training, and livelihood alternatives.
“Furthermore, we should prioritise the restoration of their sense of dignity and belonging inside their communities.
“It’s essential that we strategy this process with empathy, sensitivity, equity, sense of urgency and a dedication to inclusivity.
We should actively have interaction with the displaced communities, listening to their voices, understanding their issues, and involving them within the decision-making processes that have an effect on their lives.
“By fostering a participatory strategy, we are able to be certain that our efforts are actually attentive to the wants and aspirations of these we search to help,” the governor stated.
The governor urged the committee to leverage on the experience and sources out there, each inside the authorities and thru partnerships with related stakeholders, together with non-governmental organisations, community-based organisations, and humanitarian businesses.

On November 8, 2023, the governor introduced that the state authorities, in collaboration with the navy safety outfit, Operation Save Heaven (OPSH), had concluded preparations to resettle communities displaced by bandits in Southern Kaduna to their ancestral houses.
Members of the committee headed by the deputy governor, included the Secretary to the State Authorities (SSG), overseeing commissioner, Ministry of Inner Safety and Dwelling Affairs, council chairmen of Zagon- Kataf, Kaura and Jama’a LGA, government vice chairman, Kaduna Peace Fee and the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, amongst others.
