However in a press release signed by its spokesperson, Humphrey Iloh, the group described the act as dictatorial.
The group acknowledged: “Our consideration has been drawn to trending information with pictorial and video proof on social media of Prof. Soludo-led authorities destroying newspaper stands and beating up newspaper distributors in Awka.
“Additionally, on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Ogbo-ogwu in Onitsha, the brutal killing of 1 Mr. Arinze Obunadike, a drug vendor at Ogbo-ogwu, and resident of Iyiowa Odekpe, in Ogbaru LGA and indigene of Okija in Ihiala LGA, by Particular Anambra State Anti-Touting Squad (SASA).
“We, the members of the Discussion board of Labour Celebration 2023 Home of Meeting Candidates condemn in its entirety these double tragic and unlucky acts by the Prof. Soludo-led authorities and different earlier actions, that are clear indications that Anambra State is now beneath a dictatorial regime.
“The Anambra State of right this moment will not be the pleasant and peaceable Anambra that the earlier governments left for Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.
“His present type of governance is completely towards Part 14(2) (b) of the Structure of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, which declares that the safety and welfare of the individuals shall be the first goal of presidency,” the group stated.
The discussion board suggested Soludo to desist from additional humiliating, intimidating, impoverishing, and killing of the individuals of the state.
It acknowledged that it could be left with no choice however to strategy the courtroom and search an order to compel the state Home of Meeting to begin the impeachment course of towards the governor, to rescue the Anambra individuals from the dictatorial regime.
