Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have once more focused important infrastructure in Yobe State, bringing down two Transmission Firm of Nigeria (TCN) towers in Kasaisa Village, alongside the Kasaisa-Damaturu-Gujba highway.
The assault which occurred on Friday morning, has plunged the state capital and its environs into darkness.
The incident was the second in three months, coming one month after the TCN had repaired the power and restored electrical energy to the area.
When contacted, the Assistant Director, Public Relations Officer, Operation Lafiya Dole Sector 2 Damaturu, Captain Shehu Muhammad, confirmed the incident.
“It’s so unlucky, the vandals carry down the towers,” he stated.
